About Maple Picks

Maple Picks is an independent Canadian shopping publication. We publish buying guides, comparisons, and curated shortlists so Canadians can spend less time researching and more time using what they bought.

What we do

Every guide starts with a question a real shopper is asking — which air fryer is worth it, what winter tires suit a Prairie commute, what to buy a teacher who has everything. We narrow the field to a handful of options, explain who each one suits, and link out to retailers that ship within Canada.

How we research

  • Compare specifications, warranty terms, and long-term owner feedback.
  • Confirm the product is actually available to Canadian buyers at a fair CAD price.
  • Prefer products with a track record over brand-new listings with thin review data.
  • Revisit guides on a schedule and update or remove picks that no longer hold up.

We are transparent about the limits of our work: we do not lab-test every product, and we say so on guides that are research-led rather than hands-on.

How we make money

Maple Picks earns affiliate commissions when readers buy through our links. Commissions never influence which products we recommend or how we rank them, and we do not accept payment for placement. If a category has no product we can honestly recommend, we say that instead of filling the slot.

Editorial independence

Retailers and brands have no review rights over our content. Any product supplied by a brand is disclosed on the guide it appears in.
