Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Maple Picks collects and how we use it. It is written to reflect Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

  • Newsletter signups: your email address and the page you subscribed from.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message.
  • Usage data: standard request information such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate region, and device type.

We do not collect payment information, because purchases happen on retailer sites.

How we use it

  • To send the newsletter you asked for, and to let you unsubscribe.
  • To reply to your enquiry or correction.
  • To understand which guides are useful so we can improve them.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Affiliate links and third parties

When you click a product link, the retailer (for example Amazon.ca) may set cookies or record a referral so a commission can be attributed. That activity is governed by the retailer's own privacy policy, not ours. We recommend reviewing the policy of any retailer you buy from.

Cookies

We use only the cookies and local storage needed to operate the site and to measure aggregate traffic. You can block cookies in your browser; the site will still work.

Data retention

Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept while we handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. Contact us through the contact page and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
